Telling four stories together requires separating all the threads and pulling together only the ones that can support the main themes. For our work with the Tacoma Art Museum we are learning the story of their new collection of Art of the American West, the story of the “west”, the story of Tacoma, and the story of the museum itself. With those stories in mind, our task is to find all the connections between those stories to highlight their relevance and value to the museum’s audiences. The inter connective narrative will then be used to create an orientation video that museum visitors can view before entering the new galleries.

To help sort it all out we created a number of visual representations of the story elements so we could begin to weave them together and see which ones could connect best to our main themes.
