At the heart of the 2014 Celebrate Swedish fundraiser was the Fund-A-Need for a cutting-edge new treatment and research facility. At the center of the new Robert and Jean Reid Family Innovative Therapeutics and Research Unit at Swedish Cancer Institute is the use of genetic science to determine the best treatment for certain cancers. This approach is already having tremendous impact for the development of new medicines and treatment therapies for patients. Many of these patients had were at or near the end of the list of treatment options. This genetic-based science is providing new hope, new treatments, more time, and better quality of life for cancer patients.
We created a video for the event to provide information about the new unit and share two stories of patients who’s lives were changed. The event was a huge success and this important unit is on its way to becoming reality. Visit the Swedish Medical Center Foundation website to learn more about this import new unit and see our video!
